Russell Wilson entered uncharted territory when he threw five interceptions in Sunday's 38-10 loss to the Green Bay Packers. But he has a knack for rebounding the following week. Here's a look what he has done the week after throwing at least two interceptions -- which has only happened eight times in his career.
Jan. 18. 2015 -- Four interceptions vs. Green Bay Packers
The Seahawks survived those four picks in the NFC Championship Game against the Packers and went on to face the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLIX. Wilson went 12 of 21 for 247 yards and two touchdowns in the Super Bowl. But he threw one interception (the one we don't like to talk about).
Sept. 30, 2015 - Three interceptions at St. Louis Rams
It was only the fourth game of his career. But he followed it up with a slightly better performance in Carolina. Wilson went 19 of 25 for 221 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions against the Panthers. Seattle won 16-12.
That Carolina game was one of six games in his career in which Wilson has thrown two interceptions. The next week, Wilson began his meteoric rise to fame with a 4th quarter comeback victory over the Patriots, 24-23. Wilson went 16 of 27 for 293 yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions.
Nov. 3, 2013 - Two interceptions vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Seahawks survived to beat the Bucs in overtime. The next week, Wilson went 19 of 26 for 287 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions in a 33-10 win over the Atlanta Falcons.
Nov. 9, 2014 - Two interceptions vs. New York Giants
The Seahawks beat an inferior team that day. The next week, Wilson went 20 of 32 for 178 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions in a 24-20 loss at Kansas City.
Oct. 22, 2015 - Two interception at San Francisco 49ers
These were not Jim Harbaugh's 49ers and the Seahawks beat them easily despite the miscues. The next week, Seattle won a hard-fought game at Dallas 13-12. Wilson went 19 of 30 for 210 yards with one touchdown and one interception.
Nov. 27, 2016 - Two interceptions at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Seattle lost 14-5 in that game two weeks ago. The next week, Wilson went 26 of 36 for 277 yards with one touchdown and one interception in a 40-7 win over the Carolina Panthers.
The only other two interception game for Wilson was the 2015 Divisional Playoff at Carolina. Wilson didn't get a chance to rebound the next week because that game ended the season for Seattle.
The total "game after" passing statistics:
131 of 187 (70.0%), 1,712 yards, 12 TDs, 5 INTs
The Seahawks host the L.A. Rams Thursday night.
