Former CU standout Tedric Thompson released by Seahawks

Thompson played safety for the Buffs from 2013-2016 before being selected in the fourth-round of the 2017 NFL Draft by Seattle.

SEATTLE — Former CU standout Tedric Thompson is looking for a new NFL team to play on. 

He was released by the Seattle Seahawks on Tuesday, a move that saved the team $2.1M in salary cap space. Thompson was drafted in the fourth-round of the 2017 NFL Draft by the Seahawks and played the last three seasons in Seattle. 

Thompson appeared in 29 games for the team, starting 16 of them and recording three interceptions, including two last year. His season was cut short due to a torn labrum, from which he has now recovered.

Thompson played college football at Colorado from 2013-2016, snagging 13 interceptions during his time in Boulder. He also recored 215 total tackles throughout his college career.
