DENVER — Peyton Manning accidentally revealed he still thinks of himself as a Denver Bronco during Monday night's "Manningcast."

Peyton and Eli Manning host an alternative broadcast of many Monday Night Football games on ESPN2. The brothers interview guests and comment on the game while watching from their couches.

On the first play of Monday night's Broncos vs. Bills game, Denver forced and then recovered a fumble by Buffalo. And Peyton Manning was audibly excited.

"He fumbled, that's a fumble," Peyton Manning said in the broadcast. "That's our ball. That's the Broncos ball."

Eli Manning immediately teased Peyton for referring to the Broncos as "us."

"Our ball?" Eli asked.

"Did I say our ball? It's the Broncos ball," Peyton responded.

"You said our ball," Eli continued. "It's been eight years. It's been eight years. You got to get over it."

The Broncos would go on to beat the Bills 24-22 with a last-minute field goal by Wil Lutz.

The team is now 4-5 and on a three-game winning streak, their first since starting out 2021 with a 3-0 record.

Although they're not in the playoff hunt just yet, they're trending that way after a 1-5 start had their frustrated fans eyeing this year's college stars and next year's draft more than the NFL postseason, which the Broncos haven't been a part of since the Peyton Manning era.

Peyton Manning served as the Broncos starting quarterback from 2012 to 2015. He reached two Super Bowls with the team, winning the second appearance. Manning retired after the Super Bowl 50 win.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
