INGLEWOOD, Calif. — Quinn Meinerz is being held overnight Sunday at a local hospital after the Broncos' right guard experienced discomfort that team doctors determined to be an irregular heartbeat, a source told 9NEWS.
Meinerz played most of the first half in the Broncos' 24-7 win against the Los Angeles Chargers, but then headed to the locker room accompanied by medical personnel with seconds remaining in the half.
Meinerz was then taken by ambulance to a local hospital during halftime and though his heartbeat returned to normal, he was kept overnight for observation as a precaution. Doctors did not want Meinerz flying back with the team same day he experienced the heart issue.
As of Sunday, the plan was for Meinerz to fly back by a team-arranged private jet Monday.
Meinerz is having a terrific season as Pro Football Focus gave him the highest grade among Broncos players at any position through week 13.
