ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Broncos have all but one spot from their 17-man practice squad roster filled, a group headed by former Los Angeles Chargers' tight end Donald Parham.
Two of the Broncos' backup offensive linemen got away – tackle Demontrey Jacobs, who was claimed off waivers by the New England Patriots, and center Sam Mustipher, who decided instead to sign with the Los Angeles Chargers’ practice squad.
The Broncos were not awarded any new players off waivers Wednesday.
The Broncos also lost defensive lineman Elijah Garcia, who is signing with the New York Giants’ practice squad. Garcia had one sack in three games for the Broncos last year but was among their final cuts Tuesday.
Practice-squad salaries are $12,500 a week, or $225,000 over an 18-week season for a player with two-or-fewer accrued seasons.
Players with three or more seasons get between $16,800 and $21,300 a week, or between $302,400 and $383,400 per year.
Parham is a 6-foot-8 target who had nine catches for 147 yards against the Broncos the past four seasons. He was among the Chargers' final cuts Tuesday.
Here are the 16 players on the Broncos' practice squad with the final spot likely waiting for inside linebacker Jonas Griffith, one of the more surprising cuts Tuesdays, to finish weighing his options:
- Michael Burton, FB
- Matt Henningsen, DL
- Lil’Jordan Humphrey, WR
- David Sills V, WR
- Michael Bandy, WR
- Donald Parham, TE
- Thomas Yassmin, TE*
- Tyler Badie, RB
- Dondrea Tillman, OLB
- Will Sherman, G-T
- Nick Gargiulo, G-C
- Calvin Throckmorton, G
- Reese Taylor, CB
- Quinton Newsome, CB

- Tanner McCalister, S
*Practice squads are limited to 16 players, plus one more with an international exemption. That’s Yassmin for the Broncos who is from Sydney, Australia.
