KUSA--Needing some special-team linebackers, the Denver Broncos picked up one of the best Monday by signing Dekoda Watson to a one-year contract.
The former Florida State star played his first four seasons with the Tampa Bay Bucaneers before bouncing around the past two years with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Dallas Cowboys and New England Patriots.
The 6-foot-2, 240-pound Watson, 28, has just seven career starts, but he is a core special teamer, which the Broncos need now that Todd Davis and Corey Nelson are competing for the starting inside linebacker position vacated by the free-agent departure of Danny Trevathan to Tampa Bay.
Watson can also spell as a pass rushing outside linebacker.
