Broncos re-sign veteran receiver Tim Patrick

Patrick has a reworked a one-year deal. He had back-to-back, 50-catch, 700-yard seasons before suffering back-to-back season-ending injuries.

DENVER — For all his unfortunate injuries, Tim Patrick had too many positive characteristics besides his on-field ability for the Broncos to let go.

9NEWS has learned the Broncos have reached agreement with the veteran receiver on a reworked, one-year contract.

Patrick, 30, was one of the Broncos' best receivers in 2020-2021 when he combined for 104 catches, 1,576 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns. That earned him a three-year, $30 million contract extension,

He then ran into a spate of bad luck, suffering a torn ACL early in training camp in 2022 and a torn Achilles early in training camp in 2023. Patrick collected the first $20 million of his extension and even though he never played a down during that time, the Broncos wanted him back.

Patrick was scheduled to collect a non-guaranteed $10 million in 2024. His new deal will be for quite a bit less but his payout is not immediately known. The minimum salary for a six-year player is $1.125 million.
