This is true in everything sports, and it continues to be true with the NFL Draft.
As the Broncos’ first-round draft pick, quarterback Bo Nix is slotted in to receive a $10.36 million signing bonus (as estimated by Spotrac) that is nearly four times greater than the combined signing bonuses of the team’s six other draft picks.
A look at the contract value and signing bonuses for each of the Broncos’ seven drafted players, per Spotrac:
Broncos 2024 draft picks in order:
- Bo Nix*, QB - 4 year/$18.61 million contract with a $10,357,400 signing bonus
- Jonah Ellis, OLB - 4 year/$5.87 million contract with a $1,086,086 signing bonus
- Troy Franklin, WR - 4 year/$4.87 million contract with a $852,115 signing bonus
- Kris Abrams-Draine, CB - 4 year/$4.36 million contract with a $342,046 signing bonus
- Audric Estime, RB - 4 year/$4.36 million contract with a $337,733 signing bonus
- Devaughn Vele, WR - 4 year/$4.12 million contract with a $99,997 signing bonus
- Nick Gargiulo, G-C - 4 year/$4.1 million contract with a $80,372 signing bonus
The total value of the contracts for the seven drafted players is $46.29 million and $13,155,749 million in signing bonuses.
Broncos also have fifth-year option on Nix’ salary for the 2028 season.
