DENVER — Better Bo-lieve the Business of Broncos is Back.
According to Broncos’ Team Store manager Ledia Wesley Espinoza, the No. 1-selling jersey among Broncos’ players is the Bo Nix throwback jersey.
The No. 2-selling jersey among Broncos players? The Bo Nix home orange jersey.
This is not totally surprising as Nix, the Broncos’ rookie quarterback, is the hot new thing. Just as impressively is the popular staying power of Broncos’ fourth-year cornerback Pat Surtain II.
The No. 3-selling jersey among Broncos players is the Surtain home orange.
The No. 4-selling jersey is the Surtain throwback.
The No. 5-selling jersey is the Surtain youth home orange.
In terms of the most popular selling Broncos’ jerseys by player, here is the order:
- Nix
- Surtain
- Courtland Sutton
- Javonte Williams
- Marvin Mims Jr.
Perhaps, a holiday run of Audric Estime jerseys is coming.
Moreover, according to Wesley Espinoza, the last three home games were the three highest revenue days in the 24-year history of the Broncos Team Store that is located on the south side of Empower Field at Mile High.
The Throwback Jersey game against the Raiders, a Broncos win, now holds the record for single-day revenue in store history. The home loss against the Chargers is the second-best revenue day and the home win against Carolina was the No. 3 highest-revenue day.
Business at the Broncos Team Store is up 120 percent compared to this time last year. Why?
The No. 1 reason is the new uniforms, which were unveiled in late-April. Look at the packed stands during Broncos’ home games this season and it seems everyone is wearing a new Broncos’ jersey whether it be the throwbacks, the home orange, the blue or white. The Broncos didn’t have new uniforms – their latest Nike swoosh design was five years old -- when the stadium and team store opened in 2001.
The Throwback uniforms have been a singular factor as they have been wildly popular with the fan base. The throwbacks are slightly ahead of the home orange as the top-selling jersey styles.
Still another reason cited by the store manager is the more than usual number of exciting young players the Broncos have been playing this year as the team has exceeded expectations with road wins at Tampa Bay, the New York Jets and New Orleans and a skid-breaking home victory against the rival Raiders.
