ATLANTA — Four-time All-Pro safety Justin Simmons is joining the Atlanta Falcons after eight seasons with the Denver Broncos, his agency Athletes First announced on Instagram on Thursday.
Simmons, 30, will be joining the NFC South team on a one-year, $8 million deal. According to multiple reports, $7.5 million is guaranteed.
The Broncos released Simmons, who was due to make a non-guaranteed $14.5 million, in March in a cost-saving measure amid the fallout from Russell Wilson's massive dead cap hit.
Simmons recorded 604 tackles, 30 interceptions, 5 forced fumbles and 4.5 sacks with the Broncos after being taken with the 98th pick in the 3rd round of the 2016 NFL Draft out of Boston College.
Simmons told 9NEWS Broncos Insider Mike Klis in June that he was enjoying spending the offseason with his family while he patiently awaited the right opportunity.
