ENGLEWOOD, Colo — The Denver Broncos have reached a one-year contract agreement with free-agent offensive tackle Matt Peart, a source told 9NEWS.
Peart, who turns 27 in June, was a third-round selection of the New York Giants out of Connecticut in 2020.
He was primarily a backup in his four seasons with the Giants, playing in 43 games but starting only seven.
The 6-foot-7, 315-pound Peart would figure to replace Cam Fleming as the Broncos' primary veteran backup to left tackle Garett Bolles and right tackle Mike McGlinchey.
The Broncos are also high on two of last year's rookie tackles who didn't play, Alex Palczewski and Demontrey Jacobs. The Broncos also have veteran Quinn Bailey and former Colorado Buffalo Will Sherman at offensive tackle.
