DENVER — Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix is being honored by the NFL yet again after leading the team to a 29-19 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday.
Nix won his third straight NFL Rookie of the Week Award after throwing for 273 yards and two touchdowns while helping the Broncos improve to 7-5 to keep them in the thick of the playoff hunt.
Nix won the previous two weeks after a heartbreaking, last-second loss to the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium and a blowout victory at home over the Atlanta Falcons. Nix's performance against the Falcons was good enough to get him named not just Rookie of the Week, but also AFC Offensive Player of the Week.
Over the past three weeks, Nix has thrown for 795 yards, eight touchdowns and zero interceptions. His streak of three consecutive weeks with 200-plus passing yards, two-plus touchdowns and no interceptions is tied for the longest by a rookie since 1970.
Nix is second behind Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels, who has been named Rookie of the Week seven times this season. New York Jets running back Braelon Allen and Buffalo Bills wide receiver Keon Coleman have also won once each.
With his recent hot streak, Nix is putting pressure on Daniels, who has been the favorite to win NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year for most of the season.
Since 2002 when the NFL began naming the Rookie of the Week, the most the award has been won in a single season is nine times by Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Rothlisberger in 2004.
Nix's three selections are already the second-most ever for a Bronco behind running back Knowshon Moreno, who won the award four times in 2009.
