SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — The University of Denver hockey team is heading back to the Frozen Four.
DU defeated Cornell 2-1 on Saturday at MassMutual Center to punch their ticket to the national semifinals in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
After giving up the first goal, the Pioneers responded with goals from Miko Matikka and Sam Harris to win the game and come out the winner of the Springfield Regional as the No. 3 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
Denver will play Boston University in the first of the two Frozen Four games on Thursday, April 11. Puck drop is scheduled for 3 p.m. (MT) at Xcel Center.
The winner will advance to play in the national championship game at 4 p.m. (MT) on Saturday (April 13).
