The final step is done for the CU football-Mel Tucker era to begin.
The University of Colorado announced Wednesday that its Board of Regents had approved the contract for Mel Tucker to become the 26th head coach of the Buffs.
Tucker's contract, a five-year agreement worth $14.8 million, provides for a base salary of $500,000 and supplemental salary of $1.9 million. His contract also includes many incentives for both academic and athletic performance.
The board's vote was 6-2, with one abstention.
