FORT COLLINS, Colo. — The optimism of the start of camp was on display in actions as much as it was in words.
The Colorado State football team opened preparation for the 2024 season Friday. As expected, the talk from players and coach Jay Norvell after was of hope for the season.
But as they spoke, dozens of other players sprinkled across the field in different groups doing post-practice work. Some defensive linemen worked each other through more individual drills. Defensive backs and linebackers did extra work while pass-catchers caught more balls.
Does any of this mean CSU will step forward to become a winning team in 2024? Too soon to tell, but it hints at why those who were interviewed are optimistic.
