It's not known at this time when Reese will return.

NEW ORLEANS — With rumors swirling about LSU star Angel Reese's absence, she responded on X, formerly known as Twitter.

"Please don't believe everything you read," Reese said.

The "Bayou Barbie" missed the Tigers game at Southeastern Louisiana on Friday. After the game head coach Kim Mulkey was asked about Reese and she did not say why she wasn't with the team.

"It's very obvious Angel was not in uniform," Mulkey said Friday. "Angel is a part of this basketball team and we hope to see her sooner than later."

When Mulkey was asked again about Reese, she said, "I'm not gonna answer anymore. That's it. That's all you need to know."

It's not known at this time when Reese will return.

LSU plays three times in the next six days. The first is on Monday at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center against Texas Southern at 7 p.m. The next two are on the road: Black Friday against Niagara at 12:30 p.m., and on Saturday against Virginia at 4 p.m.

Reese had started LSU’s first four games, during which the Tigers went 3-1, and averaged 17 points and 10.3 rebounds. Reese averaged 23 points and 15.4 rebounds per game last season in leading LSU to its first national championship in women's basketball.
