BOULDER, Colo — One of the nation's top-rated high school quarterbacks announced his commitment to join the Colorado football team in 2025.
Julian Lewis announced his commitment to Deion Sanders and the CU Buffs on Thursday's "The Pat McAfee Show" on ESPN.
The No. 2 recruit in the 2025 ESPN 300, Lewis had been committed to the University of Southern California since 2023, but decommitted from Lincoln Riley's class on Sunday.
"It's definitely perfect timing! #Committed #SkoBuffs" Lewis wrote on Instagram.
A senior out from Carrollton High School in Carrollton, Georgia, Lewis is Top247's No. 115 overall player and No. 9 quarterback in the 2025 class.
At Colorado, Lewis could be a potential replacement for Colorado senior quarterback Shedeur Sanders who will head for the NFL after this season.
Colorado at Kansas
Ranked 16th in the newest Associated Press college football poll and the latest College Football Playoff rankings, the Buffs have two games remaining in the regular season. Each win will bring the Buffs closer to a spot in the Big 12 title game.
The Buffs are heading east to Kansas City to face their biggest test of the season on Saturday.
The Buffs (8-2) will play the Kansas Jayhawks (4-6) on Saturday at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium. The game will kick off at 1:30 p.m. Mountain time and will be televised nationally on FOX.
The game is being played at the home of the Kansas City Chiefs while the Jayhawks' on-campus stadium undergoes renovations this season.
