BOULDER, Colo. — University of Colorado head coach Deion Sanders spoke to reporters Friday about the program's additions and his optimism headed into the 2024 season.
His optimism was not extended to two reporters, however, who got shut down by the NFL Hall of Famer in moments that left the room buzzing and made for a viral moment on social media. The first came when Sanders was asked a question by a local CBS affiliate reporter. Sanders wouldn't even let him finish speaking once he heard "CBS."
"CBS, I’m not doing nothing with CBS," Sanders said. "Next question. Ain’t got nothing to do with you, this is above that...I got love for you. I appreciate and respect you. Ain’t got nothing to do with you. They know what they did."
Sanders seemingly confused the local affiliate with the national CBS brand, which the reporter tried to clarify, but it did not matter. He doubled down and did not let the reporter ask his question.
"You are who you are," Sanders said. "CBS is CBS. Ain’t got nothing to do with you. I respect you. That’s why I told you that. I’m looking you in the eyes as a man. And I respect you, and I’ve got love for you. But what they did was foul."
It was unclear why Sanders has such a tiff with the network, but CBS recently ranked Sanders as the second-worst head coach in the Big 12.
Then, in an even more tense moment, a Denver Post reporter tried to ask a question and Sanders interrupted, turning the tables by asking the reporter why he didn’t like the Buffaloes.
“Why do you not like us? You don’t like us, man. Why do you do this to yourself?... No, I’m serious,” Sanders said.
The reporter responded by saying his question was purely about football. Sanders wasn't having it.
The Denver Post reporter nervously laughed throughout the exchange, and then the press conference quickly moved on when Sanders called on a different reporter.

The former Dallas Cowboys legend has been no stranger to sharing his mind in press conferences. Just last year, after beating TCU, Sanders called out the critics.
Colorado opens its first season in the Big 12 Conference against North Dakota State on Aug. 29.
