BOULDER, Colo. — The CU Buffs will play at least one game this season in an NFL stadium.
The Colorado Buffaloes will play the Kansas Jayhawks at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium on Saturday, Nov. 23.
Kansas Athletics made the announcement that its six home football games in 2024 will not be played at its campus stadium, David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium, while it undergoes extensive reconstruction.
Demolition of KU's stadium began in November. The reimagined football stadium will reopen for the 2025 season.
KU will its six home games in the Kansas City metro area. The first two games against Lindenwood and UNLV will be played at Children’s Mercy Park – the home of Sporting Kansas City and the MLS. The four Big 12 Conference games against Colorado, TCU, Houston and Iowa State will take place at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.
The matchup between Kansas and Colorado will be the 71st in the series history and the first meeting since 2010.
This fall marks the second season the Buffs will take the field under Sanders. The Buffaloes also return to the Big 12 in 2024, their first season in the conference since 2010.
The Buffs open the season with three non-conference games, including the season opener at Folsom Field on Aug. 31 against North Dakota State. That game will be followed by road games against rivals Nebraska on Sept. 7 and Colorado State on Sept. 14.

CU said the last time the Buffs played in both Lincoln and Fort Collins was in the 1996 season, which is also the last time Colorado played at Colorado State.
Colorado ends the 2024 season at home the day after Thanksgiving, on Friday, Nov. 29, against Oklahoma State.
This season, the Buffs will play nine of 15 conference opponents: Kansas, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, Baylor, Texas Tech, Arizona, Utah, Central Florida and Cincinnati.
CU said the times and television for the first three weeks plus any Friday games will be determined in late May or early June.
Colorado Buffaloes spring game
CU will hold its annual spring football game on Saturday, April 27.
The game will be part of CU's Black and Gold Day festivities at Folsom Field in Boulder.
CU said the spring game's television time is still to be announced and tickets will go on sale soon.
The Buffaloes will begin spring football practices March 18 and the team will practice for a week before taking off spring game before returning to the field April 1.
Last year, the Buffs sold out their spring game for the first time in program history and it was the only game aired by ESPN. CU said 47,277 fans braved a snowstorm to see the Buffs in action for the first time under Deion "Coach Prime" Sanders.
