DENVER — The Denver Nuggets have joined the flurry of trades happening Thursday across the NBA just before the league's trade deadline.
The Los Angeles Lakers are trading center Thomas Bryant to the Nuggets for guard Davon Reed and three second-round picks, according to ESPN NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski.
"Bryant has given the Lakers some productive and high-energy stretches this season, averaging 12 points and 6.8 rebounds in 21 minutes," Wojnarowski tweeted. "Physical addition to Nuggets’ frontline."
All eyes have been on the Nuggets' Bones Hyland, as the second year guard’s name has been circulating in trade rumors.
Nuggets head coach Michael Malone weighed in on the situation:
"Just trying to give him some space, but also let him know that, yes this is a business but we also care about you," Malone said. "I put myself in his situation and it’s not easy. He’s a young kid, he’s got a lot going on his life, And I just want the best for Bones Hyland I really do."
The Phoenix Suns pulled a midnight blockbuster on Wednesday, acquiring 13-time All-Star Kevin Durant from the Brooklyn Nets, according to multiple reports.
The outlets, citing unnamed sources, said the Suns added Durant to a starting lineup that already includes an All-Star backcourt of Chris Paul and Devin Booker, along with center Deandre Ayton.
Phoenix sent Cam Johnson, Mikal Bridges, Jae Crowder, four first-round picks and additional draft compensation to the Nets. The Suns also receive forward T.J. Warren in the deal.
