DENVER — Many Nuggets fans wanted to see young forward Michael Porter Jr. get more playing time from head coach Michael Malone when the NBA was still having games.
Now, he'll be the only guy on the team playing.
Sort of.
Porter is the Nuggets representative in the league's first NBA 2K tournament set to begin at 5 p.m. Friday. He is the No. 12 seed and will face the No. 5 seed, Devin Booker of the Phoenix Suns, in the first round. Sixteen players total are participating in the tournament.
Other gamers include Kevin Durant of the Brooklyn Nets, Trae Young of the Atlanta Hawks and Donovan Mitchell of the Utah Jazz.
The winner of the event will receive $100,000 to give to a charity in support of the coronavirus relief efforts.
