Jokic selected as All-Star game starter

Jokic will start as an All-Star for the fourth year in a row.

DENVER — Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic has been selected to the NBA All-Star game for the sixth consecutive year, the league announced Thursday.

This is Jokic's fourth consecutive year being named an All-Star starter. He joins Alex English as the only Nugget player to be selected to start in four All-Star games and is just the second Nuggets player ever to be selected to six or more All-Star games (English was selected eight times).

Jokic, 28, is averaging 26.2 points, 12.0 rebounds, 9.1 assists and 1.1 steals while shooting .590 from the field and .362 from three in 33.6 minutes per game this season. He leads the NBA with 13 triple-doubles, becoming the first player in NBA history to have seven consecutive seasons with 10 or more triple-doubles.

Jokic is second in the NBA in PER (Player Efficiency Rating) at 32.2, second in total assists (401), fourth in assists per game (9.1), fourth in rebounds per game (12.0), sixth in field goals made per game (10.2) and 13th in points per game (26.2).

The two-time MVP started the season by winning Western Conference Player of the Month for October and November.
