Daniel Murphy donates $100K to minor leaguers

DENVER — Colorado Rockies first baseman Daniel Murphy and his wife, Tori, donated $100,000 to help support minor league players and their families.

The donation was made to Our Baseball Life, which has set up the MiLB Family Assistance Fund, and aims to ensure that every player support a child or family member receive assistance.

"In these uncertain times, it’s humbling for us to be able to help those who are struggling," Murphy told Thomas Harding of MLB.com.

"Once we found out More Than Baseball was already working on behalf of Minor Leaguers, we were able to quickly partner with them and donate to those in need."
