KUSA- The Colorado Avalanche announced Friday morning that Nathan MacKinnon will miss 6-8 weeks with a fractured foot.
This will likely end MacKinnon's season unless they can find a way to make it into the NHL playoffs, which they are currently in 12th place in the Western Conference.
MacKinnon has not missed a game for the Avalanche since being drafted with the first pick in the 2013 NHL Draft.
After a slow start to the season MacKinnon has been scoring more in recent weeks, including his first NHL hat trick on February 22 against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
