Gabi Morris, shown at the 2023 Mountain West meet, has qualified for the 2024 NCAA Championships in both shot put and discus.

FORT COLLINS, Colo. — Six Colorado State athletes will compete at the track and field NCAA Championships.

The group is led by four throwers and one who qualified in two events out of the NCAA West Regional in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Gabi Morris qualified in both the shot put and discus. Morris, formerly Gabi McDonald and a Rocky Mountain High School graduate, finished third in the regional in shot put with a career-best mark of 18.19 meters (59-feet, 7-inches roughly). It moves her into second in CSU's record book in the event, behind only teammate Mya Lesnar (more on her below).

Morris then followed with a qualifying mark in the discus, finishing seventh with a season-best throw of 57.87 meters (189-feet, 9 inches).

Morris qualified for nationals in both the shot put and discus last season as well.

Also qualifying in the shot put for CSU was Lesnar, who won the indoor national title in the event in March. She finished second at the regional with a shot put mark of 18.68 meters (61-feet, 3 inches).
