9NEWS Sports Anchor Arielle Orsuto: Thank you, and goodbye, Denver

Arielle Orsuto bids farewell to Denver and 9NEWS after five years.

DENVER — I usually leave you with a final minute to ponder a tough topic or to ask you to think from another perspective.

But tonight, I just want to say thank you. Thank you for welcoming me into your homes for the last five years, for welcoming me with open arms to be my true full self.

You allowed me to share my life with you, my wife with you, you allowed me to share stories of meaning.

Thank you for being there through the darkest of times — when our teams would lose week after week. Thank you for being there through the highest of highs — when we celebrated in champagne showers. Thank you for understanding that women's sports mattered before the rest of the world caught on.

And thank you most of all for allowing the voiceless to finally have a voice.

They say to leave a place better than you found it. Colorado has always been a gem, I just hope I left it with a fresh coat of polish.
