Is there anything Eaglecrest's Colbey Ross and Grandview's Michaela Onyenwere can't do?
The seniors -- fresh off winning their respective 5A basketball tournaments, and being named the 2017 Colorado Gatorade Basketball Players of the Year for the second consecutive year (it was Onyenwere's third) -- stopped by the 9NEWS studio to talk about their outstanding seasons for the 9NEWS Prep Rally.
But before their interview was set to begin, the 9NEWS sports department watched the two of them practice their answers with one another. Then, it dawned on them. Why not have Michaela and Colbey interview each other?
They talked everything -- from winning their first state titles, to Michaela's performance in the McDonald's All-American basketball game, to playing college hoops next year (Onyenwere is headed to UCLA, while Ross will take his talents to Pepperdine). They also discussed who would win in a one-on-one battle.
