It was a perfect ending to a perfect year.
No. 1 Denver Christian didn't lose all season, and it wasn't about to start on Saturday night.
The Thunder took care of No. 2 Limon in four sets (25-14, 20-25, 25-15, 25-10) at the Denver Coliseum to win the 2A volleyball state championship.
It was the culmination of a dream that started months ago and finished with a storybook ending.
“It’s honestly crazy. I love my team so much and we’ve all put in so much effort and I’m just so proud,” said sophomore Emily Sullivan.
Denver Christian lost just two sets the entire state tournament, and never had to play a match that went beyond four sets.
“It’s going to go down in school history and hopefully it’ll carry on years past us,” said junior Jacki Bogner.
School history indeed, Denver Christian was perfect.
