AURORA - It was a special night for Cherry Creek, as the Bruins defeated Overland 6-4 and Marc Johnson got his 700th win as a head coach.
Heading into the bottom of the fifth inning, the Bruins held a 4-1 lead over the Trailblazers until Joe Slocum blasted a three run homer over the left field wall to tie the game.
Creek responded quickly and in the top of the sixth Parker Jax hit a double to center that scored a run and then Aeneas Roberson hit a single right after that would score Jax to help the Bruins secure the win.
Afterwards, Johnson was congratulated by his team on the impressive milestone and took a moment to thank his teammates and coaching staff before breaking down the game.
