ENGLEWOOD – Tuesday afternoon brought not only a rivalry game, but a top-10 matchup to the Kent Denver School campus.
The Sun Devils' boys lacrosse team, which is ranked No. 4 in Class 5A in the most recent CHSAA rankings, played host to No. 10 Colorado Academy.
Kent Denver would ultimately come away with a 12-9 victory, but not before making some adjustments in the second quarter. The Mustangs came out strong to open the game and built a 5-1 lead near the end of the first.
But scoring five unanswered goals up until halftime gave the Sun Devils a 6-5 lead at the break.
Kent Denver never surrendered its lead from there, improving to 4-1 on the season with a 2-0 standing in South Suburban League play.
Colorado Academy fell to 3-2, 0-1 SSL.
