DENVER — Two top-10 Class 3A football teams met for a key league battle on Friday night.
Lutheran, ranked No. 5 in this week's media poll, used a strong second half to power past No. 9 Northfield, 32-20 at All-City Stadium.
With the win, the Lions improve to 6-2 overall on the season, which includes a 2-1 mark in Metro Northeast League play. Lutheran outscored Northfield 26-13 after going into halftime facing a 7-5 deficit.
Northfield falls to 5-3 overall, 1-2 MNL.
