BROOMFIELD, Colo. — They're heading to the championship.
Holy Family, the No. 2 seed in the Class 3A football playoff bracket, defeated No. 3 Thompson Valley 21-7 in the state semifinals to advance to the championship game.
The Tigers move on to play No. 5 Lutheran in the state title game next Saturday (December 2) at the CSU-Pueblo ThunderBowl. The Lions knocked off top-seeded Green Mountain in their semifinal game.
Holy Family has rattled off nine wins in a row since suffering an early, regular-season defeat to Roosevelt. The Tigers are seeking their first championship since 2005.
Thompson Valley's season ends with a 10-3 overall record.
