LAKEWOOD, Colo. — The Green Mountain football team had been waiting a year for a shot a redemption.
Green Mountain, the No. 1 seed in the Class 3A football playoff bracket, had its perfect season derailed last November by Roosevelt, who went on to win the state championship.
Not this time.
The Rams flipped the script on the Roughriders on Saturday at Jeffco Stadium, coming out on the winning end of this year's postseason battle, 40-21, to advance to the 3A semifinals.
Green Mountain will play the winner of Lutheran vs. Durango for a chance to play in the state title game at CSU-Pueblo in December.
