THORNTON, Colo. — Welcome back to high school football in Colorado!
On the first 'Thursday night lights' of the 2022 season, Horizon kicked off their season hosting the Douglas County Huskies.
Douglas County is coming off one of their best seasons in recent memory, and behind speedy senior Chase Nelson, and polished quarterback Davis Lish, could have another impressive year.
Horizon lines up behind 2nd-year starting quarterback, sophomore Alex Birch.
In tonight's game, Horizon stormed back with a 2nd half comeback after falling behind 17-0 at the half, but the Huskies were able to edge them 23-20 in the end. Jake Stonebraker was fantastic carrying the ball for Douglas County. Two touchdowns and a whole lot of heart on the field tonight for the junior who helped DC secure the victory.
