AURORA, Colo. — The Chatfield football team doesn't care what number you want to label them.
The Chargers, who entered the Class 5A football bracket as the No. 14 seed, are still turning heads after their third postseason win.
Chatfield went on the road to defeat No. 11 Grandview, 37-28, at Legacy Stadium in the quarterfinals on Friday night.
"Being a 14-seed, it actually just gave us more motivation. That's their fault," senior quarterback Jake Jones said. "Now our team is rolling and has a boat-load of confidence, and we're ready to go to state."
The Chargers advance to the semifinals, where they will play Jeffco League rival Columbine next weekend for a chance to play in the state championship game.
Chatfield and Columbine played once during the regular season, with the Rebels winning 35-14.
Grandview's season finishes with an 8-5 overall record.
