ERIE, Colo — It's time to refresh the record book.
Erie quarterback Blake Barnett made history Friday night, breaking the career touchdown record set by Christian McCaffrey (Valor Christian) as the Tigers blew past Longmont 57-13 in the 9Preps Game of the Week.
Barnett eclipsed McCaffrey's 141 touchdowns with a trio in the first half -- one rushing, one on defense and one passing.
The game was paused to recognize Barnett's historic feat.
"It's a full-circle moment," Barnett said. "I'm just in awe.
Erie improves to 8-1 overall on the season and will close out the regular season against Greeley West before gearing up for a run in the Class 4A playoffs.
Longmont falls to 5-4.
