AURORA, Colo. — The Mullen Mustangs are moving on to the next round!
Mullen, the No. 9 seed in the CHSAA Class 6A girls basketball bracket, upset No. 8 and two-time defending state champion Grandview 49-45 in the Sweet 16 on the road Friday night.
The Mustangs advance to the Great Eight round of the state tournament, where they will aim to return to the top after winning back-to-back titles (4A) in 2021-22.
Grandview's season ends with a 14-11 overall record.
