HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. — Perfect no more.
The Valor Christian girls volleyball team had grown seemingly unbeatable after putting together back-to-back undefeated seasons capped off with state championship titles.
But on Tuesday night, Fossil Ridge put an end to the streak that dated back nearly three full years.
The No. 4-ranked SaberCats entered the gym of the two-time defending champion Eagles (No. 2) in a huge Class 5A match.
Fossil Ridge won 3-1 in four sets (25-21, 21-25, 25-19, 25-22) to snap Valor Christian's 72-match win streak. It was the first time the Eagles have tasted defeat since November 12, 2021.
