DENVER β It took three overtime period, but we finally have a Class 4A hockey state champion.
Cheyenne Mountain outlasted Glenwood Springs 1-0 in a triple overtime thriller in the title game at DU's Magness Arena to successfully defend its state crown on Tuesday night.
Hank Walsh scored the game-winning goal to give the Red-Tailed Hawks their 16th championship in program history.
"It's unreal. I can't put it into words," Walsh said. "I just laid there on the ice, thinking 'How am I this lucky?' It's really an astonishing moment.
