The two teams with the most boys lacrosse state championships, the Cherry Creek Bruins (6) and the Kent Denver Sundevils (5) took the field in a rainy game that turned into a blizzard midway through.
Neither team took the upper hand staying even through the first half and into the third quarter before the weather turned from rain to snow.
After taking a 9-7 lead in the third, the Bruins scored three more unanswered goals with the orders to shoot whatever they could on net Head Coach Matt Bocklett said.
The more chances they accumulated the more they capitalized and eventually their offensive chances proved to be the difference on the scoreboard.
The Bruins managed to battle both the Sundevils and the weather to pull off their seventh 5A boys lacrosse state championship at All City Stadium on Monday night.
