George King leads a young CU basketball team

Talk about your young basketball teams.

More than half of the Colorado Buffaloes roster is filled with freshman. There's no doubt the Buffs future is bright but George King is more concerned about the present.

That's because George King is a senior.

"This is not a rebuilding team or anything like that," said King. "I'm not saying that because I'm a senior, Coach Boyle will tell you the same thing."

Of course, CU Head Coach Tad Boyle agreed. "This has been a special year for him and he wants it to continue," Boyle said about his teams leader. "What I like about George right now is that he's concerned about one thing, winning."

King is coming off his best performance of the season. The senior scored 26 points thanks to a career-high six three-pointers in Colorado's first ever win at UCLA.

"Honestly it's almost like you black out, and I know that's when I'm playing my best ball and I'm like in a zone really," explained King.

King has had a good college career and he's hoping it will last past the PAC-12 Tournament.

Colorado is on a roll having won three of their last four and they will play host to Washington State Thursday night for a shot at four-of-five.

As homage to University of Colorado and women's lacrosse senior, Julia Sarcona who died in a car crash earlier this week, the team will wear a "JS15" patch and join together in a moment of silence prior to tip-off.
