KUSA—It didn't take long for Lenny McGill to find work.

The former Denver Broncos scout has been hired by the Miami Dolphins to be their new West Coast regional scout.

McGill, 43, spent six years as one of the Broncos' top scouts from 2009 until he was informed two weeks ago his contract would not be renewed. He began his scouting career in 2000 with the Green Bay Packers, staying there through 2008.

He was hired away by the Broncos to become their assistant director of college scouting. In his final season with the Broncos, McGill scouted the Southwest area where the team nabbed Missouri pass rusher Shane Ray in the first round of the recent NFL Draft, and Tulane cornerbacks Lorenzo Doss and Taurean Nixon in rounds five and seven, respectively.

McGill now brings his 15 years of NFL scouting experience to the Dolphins, who have just one playoff appearance in the past 13 seasons and haven't won a postseason game since 2000.

A former NFL cornerback, McGill had 104 tackles and four interceptions in his career that spanned from 1994-98 with Green Bay, Atlanta and Carolina.
