The State of Colorado is launching a human trafficking public awareness campaign designed to uncover the true crime of human trafficking. The multi-year campaign aims to increase awareness about many forms of human trafficking and promote a statewide culture that does not tolerate human trafficking.
Images like the one above demonstrate how the definition of human trafficking happens in real-life and in Colorado. The awareness campaign, produced by the Colorado Human Trafficking Council, will be seen in every corner of Colorado starting in November 2020.
The campaign is strategically placed where human trafficking victims are likely to see it. It includes a website, ThisisHumanTrafficking.com, YouTube Channel, statewide television commercials, streaming radio, social media, and advertising in highly visible areas.
Informed by survivor expertise and experience and three years of in-depth research, the campaign depicts many different forms of human trafficking that can happen in any community, even yours.
What does human trafficking look like?
It may not be visible. It’s likely not obvious. And it probably doesn’t look like what you’ve seen portrayed in the movies or on TV. It can’t be identified by looking for any one “type” of person, but rather by potential risk factors.
