This CO 'throne' could win the crown for best in US

When it comes to best places "to go," this public restroom in Minturn is one of the best.
Using a unique 3D technology from a local company, the city of Minturn built a super unique set of public restrooms with wooden walls that roll like waves – using 300 pieces of plywood. The two bathrooms cost about $100,000.

MINTURN - When it comes to best places "to go," this public restroom in Minturn is one of the best in the U.S., according to an annual contest.

These artsy cube-like restrooms were designed with the city's mining history in mind. This innovative facility was built using 3D technology by a Colorado business called LGM.

  • The Music Hall in Portsmouth, New Hampshire has an Alice in Wonderland theme.
  • OB Warehouse in Ocean Beach, California was nominated because of its retro feel. The restroom is decked out with vintage mirrors, oil cans, old tools and concrete sinks.

  • The Salty Pig in Boston, Massachusetts was nominated because it is themed after the comic strip "The Far Side."
  • The restroom at Strataca, the only underground salt mine in the U.S., is 650 feet underground. Located in Hutchinson, Kansas, these restrooms are carved out of a stratified 275 million year old salt bed.
