Einstein Bros. Bagels said it's going to sell some non-food products for devoted fans of cheese and bacon: Cheese-flavored shampoo and bacon-flavored conditioner.
The Lakewood company said it's seriously going to sell a new line of "Cheesy Shampoo" and "Wakin' Bacon Conditioner," both for $9.99, at its 700 locations in 40 states.
"What better way to start the day than with the delicious aroma of the new Cheesy Wakin' Bacon sandwich from Einstein Bros. Bagels. This is the ultimate breakfast apéritif – now our fans can shower themselves with mouth-watering scents, leaving them looking as incredible as they smell edible, all day long," ," said Kerry Coyne, Einstein Bros. Bagels senior vice president of marketing, product and innovation, in a statement. The company is obviously trying to publicize its cheese and bacon breakfast offering with the deal.
A company spokesman confirmed that indeed, the shampoo and conditioner will be sold by Einstein Bros. Bagels, and it was not an April Fool's joke.
