'Balloon boy' game goes viral within minutes

DENVER - The world couldn't get enough of "Balloon boy" Falcon Heene last week. After his story dominated the airwaves for hours on Thursday, it was followed by a run of TV interviews, late-night comic jokes and now an online game.

Balloonboygame.com.

In the online game, gamers play the role of balloon boy as he hangs from his silver, flying saucer high in the sky. During his quest, he has to shoot at falcons, news helicopters and finally, UFOs.

In the game's scoring system, players rack up a dollar amount of taxpayer money being wasted.

The game even has a secret ending - spoiler alert - inside balloon boy's attic.

"We worked like crazy to knock out this game through the night," Gomila told 9NEWS. "[It's] inspired by childhood dreams of floating away on a balloon."

Once the game was finished, its creators say they sent out the link on Twitter to a few of their friends. They say about five minutes later, the game was being Tweeted worldwide. />
