At the base of Peak 8 in Breckenridge, Sarah Lococo and the staff are setting up for the 10th Dew Tour in Breckenridge.

“We have the courses ready for the athletes this week,” said Lococo.

Bringing skiers and snowboarders from around the planet for halfpipe and slopestyle Olympic qualifying events.

”You can walk up to the course here and catch the SuperPipe competitions and slopestyle competitions right from the base area,” said Lococo.

All of it less than two months before the winter games start in South Korea.

Something Breckenridge Mayor Eric Mamula says is the sort of thing that also brings a lot of people to Breck as well.

”This year with the Olympic qualifiers there is some added energy,” said Mamula. “In years before the Dew Tour, the time between Thanksgiving and before Christmas was like no man’s land.”

With the Dew Tour in town, business is flying with reservations up 20% during the Dew Tour.

Thanks in part to big names, ”Shaun White will be here and some other athletes that we will hopefully see at the Olympics,” said Lococo.

Competition is all week with final rounds and concerts this weekend.
