ELDORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — A man has died after he fell while climbing in Eldorado Canyon State Park Saturday evening.
The man was identified by the Boulder County Coroner as Robert Dergay, 48, from Boulder.
Dergay was climbing near the Bastille Crack, a popular climbing route in the park when the Boulder County Sheriff's Office said several witnesses saw and heard him fall.
Boulder County Sheriff's Office, Colorado Parks and Wildlife, and Rocky Mountain Fire District responded and pronounced him deceased on the scene.
The investigation into Dergay's death will continue by a detective with the Boulder County Sheriff's Office as well as an investigator with the Boulder County Coroner's Office.
