KUSA – A new bill aims to require valid rabies-vaccination certificates for all cats and ferrets before the owner can be issued a permit or license.
Currently, only dogs are required to have a certificate in order to register an animal with a county.

Licensing helps animal services identify lost pets. In the City and County of Denver, fees from licensing are used to care for animals and investigate complaints about stray animals.
If passed, the bill would take effect in August 2014.
