Concert being held for Jimmy Carter's 100th birthday: Here's who's performing

ATLANTA — The Carter Center is going all out to celebrate the 100th birthday of former President Jimmy Carter on September 17.

The event itself will be held at the Fox Theatre

“Jimmy Carter 100: A Celebration in Song” will feature artists ranging from pop, rock, gospel, country, jazz, hip-hop, and classical music. 

“Whether it was on his record player, on the campaign trail, or on the White House lawn, music has been – and continues to be – a source of joy, comfort, and inspiration for my grandfather,” said Jason Carter, President Carter’s grandson and chair of the Carter Center Board of Trustees. “I can think of no better way to celebrate him and his 100th birthday than a night of music.”

How much are tickets?

Tickets will cost $100 to attend, according to the Carter Center. They will officially be available to the public starting on August 5 at 10 a.m.

Emmy award-winner Rickey Minor will be the musical director for the show, which will also feature appearances by celebrity guests like Dale Murphy, Killer Mike, and Sean Penn.
